Having DNEC available for people like me with disabilities is such a help. I needed a knee scooter and couldn’t get one. Without it I was having difficulty getting around my apartment. DNEC purchased it for me and having the scooter made me more independent! The amazing thing in all of it was that it wasn’t hard to get the help I truly needed.Honestly, I wish there were more funds funneled in your direction. When all was said and done, I was left feeling complete and independent. I was left with those feelings not only because I had the equipment that I needed but also because I was treated like a person by the wonderful caring staff that work at DNEC. Your staff puts their heart, mind, and soul into help those of us who need assistance.

Everyone was so helpful, kind, courteous and helped me to be independent by being able to breathe with my COPD with the new air conditioner. I will always be grateful for the help and understanding given to me by the whole staff. I thank everyone involved. God Bless You! 

This has helped my daughter immensely as she is able to communicate with us throughout the house using her Amazon echo. She is also able to control her light with that and her special light bulbs and the app on her phone. The cameras have given her eyes to see while in bed and given me security in knowing I can see she’s safe. She’s able to open and close the front door with her phone and see who is there with her ring camera. Without DNEC we would’ve never been able to do this as in a single mom with fixed income and we want to thank you again immensely.

I was losing my independence and needed help, I’m so glad that they were there in my time of need. I didn’t know what I was going to do, but they came to my rescue when I needed it the most. I thank my Father above for having them there to help me, and others, who don’t know where to turn when life gets too difficult to bare. Thank you again.

I was very happy and grateful that I was given the opportunity to receive the help that I needed. The advocate helped to assist my needs, she was very professional, courteous, friendly even empathetic and I really enjoyed working with her she is very helpful to all people with disabilities. She continues to work hard to see that everybody’s needs are met I am grateful for the help.

I was involved in every aspect of the purchasing of my alarm. I feel so much safer at night knowing that I will be able to hear the smoke alarm in the event of a house fire at night.

In the 37 years I’ve required some type of help, these advocates were more helpful than anybody I’ve ever dealt with.

I was in search of an advocate and received the services I needed promptly and effectively. After almost 3 months of looking for help I was pleased with the fact that the staff at Disabilities Network Eastern Connecticut was able to assist me in meeting my needs to return my voucher for section 8. I would gladly recommend the Disabilities Network of Eastern Connecticut to any other consumer in need of assistance with advocacy, job coaching and any other disability related matter. The representative of DNEC was extremely dedicated and truly concerned about my issue. She went far beyond the scope of her job requirements. We talked and emailed daily about my issues and the progress and obstacles we would encounter. “She made me feel like a family member” Professional and Extremely dedicated. I now consider her a very good friend who actually cares about me and the challenges I face.

I appreciated the lengths my advocate took to ensure that I could get a computer system that would enable me to live independently as a blind person. When my old system died, I was unable to afford a new one, with all the needed adaptations, and DNEC was able to join with Computers for the Blind, MS and other vendors to set up a suitable system for me. She spent a lot of time assisting with transferring files to my new computer; assembling the components; setting up programs; and ironing out some early kinks resulting from my being a newbie to Win. 10 and Outlook, and she continues to offer occasional assistance where needed. In the main, I have been able to effectively function without much assistance, due to her efforts.

DNEC was very responsive to our needs and did a very professional job ordering the proper equipment that we needed.

I cannot express my gratitude for all that you have done for me.  I want you to know without your help I could not have gotten the chair lifts.  The speed in which you have gotten this done has made life so much easier for me.  I can’t thank you enough.

The advocate helped me so much.  I don’t know where I would be without her.  I highly recommend her for anyone who needs the help that I required.  I am truly grateful for her.  I will never throw her number away.
